“Nothing ventured, nothing learned.”
Ever since I was a child, my father – a nature/travel film producer – instilled a curiosity for foreign countries in me. He would always bring us local handicrafts and souvenirs from the distant countries he filmed in. That curiosity has only grown with age, and was nurtured by early European travels to visit my family in Sweden.
My specialty and passions are active adventures that include skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, rafting and fishing. I believe in creating a memory etched in your soul, through physical endeavors, making the relaxation at the end of the day all the more pleasurable. (But if all you want is a vacation on the beach, of course I can help you plan that too!)
As a former owner and operator of a successful Chicago music entertainment and event company, I also focus on planning vacations around traditional or region-specific music scenes, architecture or modern and traditional cuisine. My clients benefit from my extensive research and long-time interest in indigenous cultures, ancient history, and traditional handicrafts which are proudly displayed in many foreign destinations, such as Japan, Scandinavia and Colombia.
Many of my clients share my fascination for multiple modes of travel. Trains, planes and automobiles have their own purposes, but bicycles and exploring by foot provide a unique perspective, unseen at high speeds.
Let me handcraft a memorable adventure for you and your loved ones, tailored specifically to your needs and preferences. My joy is to work with my “partners on the ground” to share local artisan shops, cuisine, historical sites, and weave it into a journey that will be etched into your memory and soul.
For few people like prolonged travel; it distracts all habit and endlessly jolts each prejudice. But I was striving to have few prejudices and few habits. – Hadrian
