Travel fosters understanding. So does Diversity.
At Q, we advocate diversity. We always have, we always will. We are 100% minority owned, and while our team is small, over our 15-year history we have combined the talents of a diverse group of people: white, black, latinx, straight, gay, male, female, Americans and immigrants.
Black Lives Matter. At Q, with team members, clients and friends who are people of color, they always have, they always will.
But we haven’t always explicitly stated how we help make the world of travel – and the planet itself – a better, friendlier place for our team, our travelers, and those who welcome them.
So let’s be clear:
At Q, discrimination has no place.
And a world worth exploring is a world worth protecting.
There is always room for growth, but our current and future initiatives include:
Diversity
- Diversity training for our team
- Discuss anti-racism and inclusiveness with the partners who welcome our travelers
- Help travel partners understand how travel can be better for our diverse community
Sustainability
- Reduce waste in our office; from motion sensor light switches to recyclable coffee capsules
- Let travelers choose between electronic vs. paper travel documents, brochures or marketing materials
- Encourage travel partners to donate to one of our selected charities, rather than bring treats for our team
- Offer our clients the option to donate to one of our selected charities with every vacation
About the images: the Women’s Bakery in Kigali
The images on this page were taken during our visit to the Women’s Bakery in Kigali, Rwanda. Globally, women lack education, stable income and proper nutrition. The Women’s Bakery is an organization that creates access to gainful employment for women to bring nutritious, affordable breads to communities in East Africa.
